Brought up in Stratford, Taranaki, Kevin started playing golf at the age of 12 at Stratford Golf Club. He represented Taranaki at junior levels, winning the Taranaki Junior Matchplay Championship and Waikato Junior Stroke Play. He moved to Auckland in 1989, and became a golf coach at The First Tee in 2012. He completed level 1 and 2 as a First Tee Coach, and was trained to be a National Coach Trainer. Now he is a Dad to his three children and runs his coaching business KK Golf. He is a PGA Coach Member and is working his way through the PGA modules to develop his coaching skills. He is also working his way through the Titleist Performance Institute Junior certification. He has always been passionate about golf and loves seeing the development of players with all kinds of abilities.
